Depart Nice or Cannes by Express highway to “Le Muy”.
(1.00 to 1.30 drive)
Drive to Sainte Maxime, enjoying sights of the Maures forest of pine trees.
Then, follow the coast line and the stunning Gulf of Saint Tropez.
2 options : Sail to St Tropez – 20 minutes across the stunning bay (June to September) or by bus.
Saint Tropez was originally a fichermen’s village. It was made famous by painters such as Matisse, Seurat, Signac… and writers of the parisian leftbank intellectuals such as Colette.
Today, it is the place to «be» for the jet set.
This charming village welcomes every year during the Holiday season some of the biggest yachts you can imagine, and it is also a tremendous good stop for shopping the latest fashion.
Free Time for strolling around, taking pictures, shopping, or sitting and sipping a drink at a famous terrace cafe. (2 hours)
According to schedule, visit the Annonciade Museum with reknowned impresionnist and fauve masters, such as Signac, Seurat, Sisley, Bonnard, and Matisse.Now, continue your visit to Port-Grimaud.
Built by the architect François Spoerry, in the 60’s. It is a canal city, built litteraly on a swamp.
You can use canal boats « coches d’eau », to sail and discover best the atmosphère of Port Grimaud.
1:00 hour stop.
To return to Nice or Cannes, you can drive the Maure’s corniche, cross Fréjus and Saint Raphaël.
Then, drive to the « Golden Corniche », the Esterel corniche, with its spectacular sights passing through the searesorts Boulouris, Le Dramont, Agay, La Napoule…
Please, make sure you operate this tour only at certain times.
Avoid week-ends during the summer season (june to september), because of heavy traffic.
Little Ferries (for ex « les Bateaux Verts »), can take you directly from Sainte Maxime to Saint Tropez in only 20 min (make sure you take that option in High season).
