A day in the country side and inland of the Nice area.
We will enter the Vesubie Valley after a short drive along the Var river.
This valley is the shortest in the countryside around Nice, and was crossed through by the salt road in earlier times.
Stop at Roquebillière and visit the splendid Baroque church of Saint Michel de Gast.
Then continue to Venanson, to the chapel Saint Sebastien, decorated by Giovanni Baleison, in 1481. He painted 12 frescoes on the vault, about the life of the Saint.
Lunch at Saint Martin de Vésubie or at the Boréon, beside the lake.
Let’s cross what is called the Little Switzerland of the Nice region.
In the afternoon, ride on to St Dalmas de Valdeblore – discovering magic settings and make a stop at one of the most ancient church in the area and try to visit the folks life and tradition museum.
Then return to Nice along the Tinee river, before reaching again the Var at the Mescla bridge.
Optional : part of the day can be dedicated to the Alpha park visit, at the Boreon, where you can discover the wolves way of life.
